Mark was born and raised in Southern California. He attended Edison High School where he lettered in football and basketball. He went on to continue his athletic career at the University of Southern California when he won the “Glummy Gus” award for most minutes played his senior year. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 1985 and played with them for five years before moving to play with the New York Jets for another three years. After retiring from the NFL, Mark started his own financial business, Boyer Financial Services, and personal training gym, Beachcities Fast Twitch.
Mark accepted Christ in high school and helped start a youth group at his parent’s house then. He first heard about FCA while playing in the NFL and started to get involved with National FCA by speaking and supporting them in Indianapolis and New York. When Mark retired from the NFL, he had the opportunity to come on staff with Southern California FCA and manage the Orange County region. During the ten years that Mark has been on FCA staff, substantial growth has occurred in Orange County FCA.
Mark lives in Huntington Beach with his wife of 26 years, Janna. Mark and Janna have five children. Jessica (22), Lauren (20), Melissa (18), Carlie (15) and Markus (11). They have recently added two new son-in-law's to their family as well, Adam married Jessica in February 2007 and Joshua married Lauren in January 2008. Mark spends his little free time coaching Markus is football and basketball and spending time with his family. |
